Personal writing

Words that arrive at their own pace

I write the way ink settles on paper — not in a rush toward a conclusion, but in layers that darken gradually until the sentence holds its weight. This site is a ledger of that slow accumulation: morning pages, evening revisions, field notes from walks through Singapore, and the longer essays that only emerge when a thought has been given enough room to breathe.

Slow Ink Pro is not a magazine and not a news desk. It is one desk, one lamp, one pen at a time. The pieces here are arranged chronologically below, the way entries appear in a journal when you flip backward through the months. New writing rises to the top; older work remains below, not discarded but shelved where it can still be found.

If you have arrived looking for polished commentary or hot takes, you may wish to turn elsewhere. What I offer instead is attentiveness — to weather, to streets, to the small mechanics of making a life from language. The sidebar holds the sections where different kinds of writing live: brief Notes, longer Essays, visual Sketches, and urban Dispatches from the city outside my window.

    Orchard after rain

The pavement holds yesterday's heat even as the gutters run clear. I walked the length of Orchard Road with a notebook that stayed mostly closed, watching how strangers negotiate shared umbrellas and the brief democracy of a dry awning.

    Mount Sophia at dusk

The hill exhales when the offices close. Delivery riders pause at the corner; a cat crosses the road with the unhurried entitlement of something that owns every shadow.

About this journal

The studio sits on Mount Sophia, in the Tree House building, where the light shifts across the desk from late morning through afternoon. I keep ordinary hours — Tuesday to Saturday, eleven until six — and use them for writing, reading, and the quiet correspondence that follows from both. Visitors are welcome by appointment; the contact page is the best way to reach me.

Everything published here is personal work. I do not accept sponsored content or guest posts, and I do not maintain a comment section. If something you read here prompts a reply, write to me directly. A letter, even a short one, is still the finest form of conversation I know.
