3. How we use personal data
We collect and use personal data only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances, and where we have a legitimate basis to do so under the PDPA. Our purposes include:
- Responding to enquiries: To read, respond to, and maintain a record of messages you send through the contact form or by email.
- Arranging studio visits: To coordinate appointments when you request to visit the studio at Mount Sophia.
- Operating the website: To deliver pages, maintain security, diagnose technical problems, and prevent fraud or abuse (including through honeypot fields on forms).
- Legal compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, lawful requests from authorities, and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims where necessary.
- Improving our correspondence: To understand the nature of enquiries we receive so we can respond more helpfully in future, without using automated profiling.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes. We do not send unsolicited promotional emails.
4. Legal basis and consent
Under the PDPA, organisations generally require consent from individuals before collecting, using, or disclosing their personal data, unless an exception applies. When you submit the contact form, you consent to our collection and use of the information you provide for the purpose of responding to your enquiry.
For cookie preferences, we ask for your consent before loading Google Maps embeds, in line with our Cookie Policy. You may withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site and revisiting the cookie banner, or by contacting us.
We may rely on deemed consent or other PDPA exceptions for server log data processed for security and operational purposes, where such processing is necessary and reasonable.
5. Disclosure of personal data
We do not routinely disclose personal data to third parties. We may disclose personal data in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: To hosting providers, email infrastructure, or IT support who process data on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality obligations. We select providers that maintain appropriate security measures.
- Google Maps: If you consent to functional cookies, Google may receive data when the embedded map loads. Google's handling of data is governed by Google's own privacy policies.
- Legal requirements: Where required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or where disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, ourselves, or others.
- Business continuity: In connection with any merger, sale, or transfer of assets, personal data may be transferred subject to equivalent privacy protections.
We do not transfer personal data outside Singapore unless we ensure that the recipient jurisdiction provides a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA, or we obtain your consent or rely on an applicable exception.
6. Retention of personal data
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. In general:
- Contact form submissions and related correspondence are retained for up to twenty-four (24) months from the date of last contact, unless a longer period is needed for ongoing communication or legal purposes.
- Server logs are retained for up to ninety (90) days unless needed for security investigations.
- Contact submission logs stored on our server contain minimal identifying information (name, email, phone, timestamp) and are retained under the same schedule as correspondence.
When personal data is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or anonymise it securely.
7. Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal data against unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal, or similar risks. These measures include:
- HTTPS encryption for data transmitted between your browser and our server
- Restricted access to server-side data directories
- Honeypot and basic validation on contact forms to reduce automated abuse
- Regular review of access controls and hosting configuration
No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, please contact us immediately.

- Correction: You may request correction of personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Withdrawal of consent: You may withdraw consent for any collection, use, or disclosure of your personal data, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawal may affect our ability to continue corresponding with you.
